Feeling blah.

I think it's safe to say that I feel like this today.
Actually, I think it's pretty safe to say that I've been feeling this way for a while. . .

Introduction Post

This blog is now public!!!!

Oh, the horror!

Anyhow, I decided to turn over a new leaf and make my blogging available to the masses. While it frightens me that people will be able to see my day to day musings, I would rather be real and approachable instead of hiding behind my private blog and being creepy.

Besides, the three of you who regularly read my blog probably weren't all that entertained.

Anyhow, you strangers who are stumbling upon this blog for the first time. . .

My name is Jami, and I am very happily married to my sweet husband, Brandon,  and have been for almost four years. I have three cats (Lyla, Chloe, Lizzie) and one dog (Brutus). They are my fur-babies, and I find them extremely entertaining, albeit hairy. ( Shut up, Andy... I know you're laughing at my usage of that word.)  I try to learn new things in every situation I find myself in, though I am sometimes hardheaded and slow to learn. I am attempting to become more creative through this whole blogging adventure. I have seen some fabulous things out here in blogland, and I will try my best to keep up with this fun world, though real life often interferes with my dreams of creativity.

I love to sing, though I rarely do it anymore. I once fancied myself to be a great singer who was destined for Broadway. And then I got real and realized that I didn't possess any of the qualities that would lead to being a serious performer.  I don't think stage fright meets the criteria! ( However, I was willing to overlook all of this to become a Disney princess two months ago. Did I say I was impulsive?)

I love, love, love to read. And by love, love, loving to read, I mean I LOVE classics. I usually don't deviate from the classics. I know I'm boring, but whatever.  My favorite book, as you can probably determine from my blog name, is Pride and Prejudice by the fabulously witty Jane Austen. I know that's dorky. My friends make fun of me for loving it, but I don't care. It is my comfort read when I'm having a bad day, and the six hour mini-series by the BBC got me through a very tough time a couple of weeks ago, so. . . yeah. Love it.

That doesn't mean that I am opposed to other works of literature. I work in a bookstore, so I have to read other things from time to time. Some of my other favorite authors include: Rob Bell, Donald Miller, and our pastor, Pete Wilson. He has a new book out, Plan B. I suggest you check it out!  I also like Wally Lamb and Phillipa Gregory.  There are other people I love to read, but I can't think of them right now.

I am also a Christian. I don't want to dwell too long and hard on this because I feel like you're probably going to figure that out along the way. At least I hope so! I don't want to write something long and beautiful here and  meticulously detail my journey because you will a) realize through my posts that I am a Christian or b) be sadly let down pretty early on when I let my temper flare or say something snarky.

I HAVE BABY FEVER!

Um. . . well, I don't really know where to go from here. I hope you enjoy my blog. It's a pleasure to have you here! Hope I'm sufficiently entertaining, and I hope you like my attempts at nurturing my creativity.

Oh, here's me and my hubby, just because we're two very attractive people and I know you wouldn't be satisfied until you walked away from this entry knowing that.
